Hypermass is a metal quintet based out of Trondheim, Norway. 
The band started in 2012 as a melodic death/thrash metal band with influences such as Revocation, Black Dahlia Murder and Sylosis. After their first EP in 2015, the band had a long lay off between releases to fully evolve their own distinct sound, which has since progressed into a concoction of various metal sub-genres. Their fresh album-offering 'Empyrean' (2022) is a powerful display of groove-based heaviness with a wide array of inspiration from all branches of metal. 'Empyrean' has garnered praise across the metal underground, and the band has unanimously been described as something to pay attention to.
